SYRCL'S RESPONSE TO DSPUD'S VIOLATIONS/SOUTH YUBA RIVER

Those of you who were dismayed by DSPUD's attempt to shove the Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board's (CVRWQCB) notice of violation under the rug will be heartened to see SYRCL's letter to CVRWQCB. It's a shame Sierra Lakes County Water District (SLCWD) can't have more actual input into sewage disposal operations, as much of the year Serene Lakes probably represents the bulk of the effluent--so we're all very much part of the problem. For my part, I'd be happy to see SLCWD making a fuss to at least try to keep DSPUD honest. It appears, from SYRCL's letter, that DSPUD has been less than forthcoming in their answers, hasn't completed tasks they should have, and are pretending they can dump whole lots more in the poor South Yuba River (have they perhaps hitched their wagon to Royal Gorge LLC's star?). It's good to see SYRCL is stepping up to the plate to protect the headwaters of the South Yuba River.

Anyways, there's a link to SYRCL's response today on www.saveserenelakes.org
